Billions – on conditions

By signing the New Hungary Development Plan on 9. May, it was finally decided how much money will be available from the total of HUF 7,000 billion for development of various areas till 2013. Tenders for EU funding will be first published in the summer. The budget allocated to one of the most important projects, the Operative Program for the Development of the Economy will be HUF 690 billion. Agricultural and rural development projects have been allocated HUF 1,300 billion. According to estimates, Hungarian food production is expected to expand by 30-40 per cent till 2013. Programs of the National Development Plan will not be of much use to purely trading organisations, as a basic criteria for participation is significant expansion, which is not foreseen in retail trade.
