When do families go shopping? This is how the back-to-school season unfolds at SPAR
SPAR Hungary supports the start of the school year with a particularly wide selection and a joint charity campaign with the Hungarian Maltese Charity. This year, the retail company offers more than 1,000 school supplies in INTERSPAR hypermarkets, but supermarkets are also prepared with the most important school supplies. And by purchasing Adni Öröm! donation cards during the start of school period, customers can also help children in need.
Families’ back-to-school expenses increase significantly in the second half of the summer, and SPAR Hungary pays special attention to making this period easier with quality and affordable school supplies and favorable promotions. According to the company’s experience, nearly half of customers purchase school supplies in the last three weeks of August – often right before the start of the school year.
“SPAR Hungary places increasing emphasis on offering budget-friendly, practical and trendy school supplies to families every year. For the start of this school year, we have significantly expanded our selection: in addition to the most popular brands, we have also prepared new products and special design products so that every age group can find the ideal products for them. In addition, the range is offered in a clear, category-based arrangement, making shopping even more convenient”
– said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
During the start of the 2025 school year, more than 1,000 types of school supplies await customers in INTERSPAR hypermarkets, while the selection in SPAR supermarkets will consist of almost 100 products, specifically focusing on basic items. This year’s hits include Liverpool FC-themed school supplies – the notebooks with the popular design also come with a water bottle, gym bag, timetable, notebook label and ballpoint pen. New products for the little ones have also been introduced: school backpacks, painting vests, and Gabby dollhouse-themed notebooks, creative sets and stickers, which are popular among children, have also been added to the range.
When developing the range, SPAR paid attention to ergonomic aspects and special needs: left-handed scissors, triangular pencils and writing instruments that fit easily in the hand can also be found in the range.
