Significant growth in the number of Chinese tourists in Hungary
According to the forecast of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) the number of foreign tourist arrivals is expected to grow globally by 4 to 4.5 percent. In the first eight months of the year Europe is in the first place among the continents with a more than 6 percent growth.
According to the datas of the Central Statistical Office; in 2010, 45 thousand tourists arrived from China to Hungary, spending a total of about 80 thousand nights here. According to the preliminary datas of 2011; during the first 10 months of 2011, more than 50 thousand tourists arrived from China, who approximately spent 100 thousand guest nights in Hungary.
