What happened to unemployed young people during the epidemic?
According to the data of KSH at the end of October, although unemployment among the total population decreased compared to last year’ s level, the indicators deteriorated among young people. The epidemic situation has created a specific labour market situation in Hungary: many young graduates and recent graduates find it difficult to find their place in the labour market, while at the same time many areas are experiencing significant labour shortages. This is confirmed by new research by Kantar-Hoffmann of coca-cola’s Hungary #énjövőm program, which recently revealed further segments of the domestic non-working and non-student youth. For them, the solution often lies in self-development, retraining and skills development based on self-knowledge: research on the programme has now also outlined how they can help different groups of unemployed young people.
