Magazine: What are the tasks?
One of the strategic goals of the Hungarian Tourism Association (MTSZ) is doing research and analysis work, plus discussing survey results with stakeholders in the sector. MTSZ has asked trade associations to make recommendations about possible research and analysis projects, and the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) has made the following 5 suggestions.
1. Collecting Hungarian and international best practices for solving the problem of the workforce shortage. In the 1st quarter of 2018 there were more than 2,600 unfilled positions in the accommodation and hospitality sectors. 2. Analysing the budgetary consequences of the possible cutting of the tax on representation expenses, and based on the results making recommendations to decision-makers. At the moment there is a 79-forint tax and contributions on every net 100 forint spent on representation.
3. Examining what kind of data the Central Statistical Office (KSH) regularly publishes about the hospitality sector and specifying which areas should be added to the list. 4. Simplifying the system of fees that hotels, bars and restaurants must pay for playing music. Right now the system of music use rates is too complex and difficult to understand. 5. Surveying the expectations of employers in connection with trade education and comparing them with the educational requirements. The training system is often criticised for not taking into considerations the real needs of the sector. //
