Application based on artificial intelligence at Auchan
Saving food is extremely important to Auchan Hungary, and it has been fighting food waste with various programs for ten years. With the help of their Smartway system, which is currently being introduced, it will be easier to optimize the sales process, which will make food rescue even more efficient. In addition, in October, food will once again come to the fore in the life of the supermarket chain, for example Auchan volunteers will cook for hundreds of needy people.
September 29 is World Food Waste Day, but at Auchan Retail, the fight against food waste is important every day of the year. The company has put this at the center of its strategy with the intention of reaching 0% in this area by 2032. That is why, in order to reduce food waste more intensively, the innovative, digital application called Smartway will be continuously introduced in the Auchan countries, which optimizes, makes the selling process faster and more efficient. The digitized solution based on artificial intelligence, already used in Romania and France, made it possible in these countries to save nearly 75 million product losses and thus 88,000 tons of CO2 emissions every year.
