Rapeseed prices have decreased in Hungary

According to Oil World, global production of rapeseed and canola may exceed the previous year by 9 percent, reaching 82.9 million tons in the 2025/2026 marketing year. World market consumption may amount to 81.5 million tons.

By the end of the 2025/2026 marketing year, 12.8 million tons of rapeseed (+4 percent) may remain in storage. According to Stratégie Grains, rapeseed was sown on approximately 6.5 million hectares (+7 percent) in the European Union in the autumn of 2025. The weather was favorable for the development of rapeseed fields in most member states. In France, the crop occupies 1.3 million hectares (+6 percent), in Germany and Poland both 1.1 million hectares (+4 and +5 percent, respectively). In Romania, the cultivated area has expanded significantly, by 20 percent to 1 million hectares.

According to AM, rapeseed was sown on 153 thousand hectares in Hungary

According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of rapeseed excluding VAT and transport costs was 184.5 thousand forints/ton in the third week of November. This price level was about 7 percent lower than a year earlier. On the Paris Commodity Exchange (Euronext/MATIF), the February 2026 exchange settlement price of rapeseed was in the range of 479–485 euros/ton between November 17 and 28.
