Consumer prices in the United States rose moderately in January
Consumer prices in the United States rose moderately, at a slightly weaker-than-expected pace, in January. Core inflation did not pick up either, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to dampen the labor market and services industry.
The U.S. Department of Labor statistics office said on Wednesday that consumer prices rose 1.4 percent year-over-year in January as well as December. Analysts expected a stronger pace of 1.5 percent. (MTI)
