Tamás Menczer: the more logistics companies are nationally owned, the stronger the country is
The more nationally owned logistics companies are, the stronger the country is – stated the State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Affairs (KKM) responsible for bilateral relations on Thursday in Debrecen.
Tamás Menczer said at the presentation of the new 5,100-square-meter warehouse complex of the Trans-Sped logistics company that the logistics sector employs about 300,000 people in Hungary, and last year they transported 300 million tons of goods.
The production value of the sector increased by 50 percent in 2022, exceeding HUF 5,500 billion, the state secretary added. Tamás Menczer called the Debrecen-based Trans-Sped family business exemplary, which was founded 33 years ago, employs 900 people, and last year’s sales reached HUF 33 billion.
He announced: according to the agreement with the company, Trans-Sped will establish six new logistics centers between 2017-2023, three in Debrecen, one each in Nagytarcsa, Környé and Tata.
The total investment value is close to HUF eight billion, which will create 270 new jobs. The government will provide HUF 2.4 billion in non-refundable support for the development, the state secretary added.
