The Hungarian soft drink and fruit juice consumption declines significantly
The decline of the Hungarian alcohol-free beverage industry seems to be unstoppable. Fewer and fewer soft drinks and fruit juice is bought in Hungary.
On an annual level, the producers sold 8 percent less in 2013, than in the same period of 2012. The sector in 2013, instead of creating new jobs and carrying out investments was forced to make redundancies. The caloric intake of soft drinks is only 1.5 to 2 percent of the daily energy intake of the Hungarian adult population, which is less than an apple’s calory content.
