McDonald’s is renewed and growing
McDonald’s is constantly opening new restaurants and modernizing its existing units in Hungary, while also paying close attention to the needs of local communities – stated Zsolt Égi, managing director of Progress Restaurant Network Kft., in an interview with Index. During the conversation, Zsolt Égi presented the company’s strategy and future plans in detail.
Zsolt Égi said that despite inflation and rising food prices, McDonald’s aims to remain affordable for consumers while providing competitive wages to its employees. The company places great emphasis on health-conscious and high-quality food, as well as maintaining a sustainable and local supplier network. In addition, McDonald’s aims to offer young workers reliable and long-term career opportunities.
The turbulent economic environment of recent years also affected McDonald’s. According to Zsolt Égi, the strength of the brand and the trust the guests placed in them helped them get through the difficult times. The goal of the company’s growth strategy announced in 2019 is to make the McDonald’s experience available to as many people as possible, and to this end, they opened new restaurants and modernized existing ones according to the “Experience of the Future” concept.
In the last five years, McDonald’s has made HUF 33 billion investments in Hungary, of which HUF 20 billion were spent on the development of new restaurants and HUF 13 billion on the modernization of existing restaurants. In addition to the constantly growing turnover of drive-thru restaurants and home delivery, the proportion of restaurant consumption began to increase again in 2022.
