The deficit of the Romanian agro-foreign trade balance was around 75 percent in the first quarter
In the first quarter, the deficit of Romania’s agricultural and foreign trade balance grew by almost 75 percent to 460.37 million euros, according to the data of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture.
In the first three months of last year, the deficit was 263.54 million euros.
Romania exported 2.94 million tons of food, worth 1.257 billion euros. Romania last year exported 2,613 million tons of food worth 1.219 billion euros, the Agerpres Romanian news agency reported.
Food imports have grown faster than this year, as 2.049 million tons of food were imported in the first quarter of this year in a value of 1.717 billion euros, while 1.631 million tons of food was imported to Romania in the same period of last year in a value of 1.482 billion euros. (MTI)
