Shops may be banned from keeping their doors open during the heating season in Germany
Store operators in Germany may be prohibited from keeping the entrances of premises opening onto the street open during the heating season, the newspaper Bild wrote, referring to a package of energy-saving measures being prepared, which may be adopted at Wednesday’s government meeting.
According to the report, not only state institutions, but also businesses and households can count on new savings rules, which will be introduced in September, until the end of February, based on the proposal developed in the Federal Ministry of Economy to maintain the security of the energy supply.
Thus, the government is expected to prohibit the use of electricity or natural gas to heat swimming pools operated in privately owned residential properties. Swimming pools, rehabilitation centers and hotels will not be subject to the new rule.
