The Hungarian Catering Industry Association held its annual general meeting

The MVI annual general meeting was held on Wednesday at the VígVarjú restaurant in Vigadó, Pest. At the event, the participating members unanimously accepted the 2024 presidential and financial report, as well as the 2025 budget and action plan for presentation.

The management of the MVI will treat the following tasks as priorities in 2025

  • Formulating proposals for the Tourism Advisory Board of the Ministry of National Economy, and in this context providing professional support to hospitality businesses;
  • Proposals for administrative burden reduction and deregulation to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice sending;
  • implementation of a recently won NEA tender and joining a consortium DIMOP project;
  • further cooperation with the MTÜ;
  • the aim remains to simplify VAT regulations and reduce taxes on representation – in cooperation with professional partner organizations;
  • regulation of the licensed operation of catering establishments;
  • continuation of participation in the Hungarikum Committee, as well as participation in professional conferences and competitions and their support.

In June, the MVI will again prepare and publish its annual statistical status report on the hospitality industry. Restaurant gastro tours will continue on a monthly basis, and on October 19, the Gundel Károly Award ceremony founded by the MVI will again be held at the Gundel restaurant.

After the official part of the general meeting, President László Kovács thanked the former presidents and officials who attended the general meeting for their work and on this occasion presented a commemorative card to Tamás Károvits, Tamás Háber, György Hercz, Sándor Gottwald and András Gombás.
