Danone fights for better European sales with savings
Danone plans a ten percent layoff among its managers, eliminating about nine hundred managerial and administrative jobs until 2014.
The decision was announced in Paris on Tuesday. It is the part of a 200 million euros worth two-year savings package, which was made public in December by the French food company.
The dismissals are the consequence of the reduction in European consumption. The company prefers internal mobilization and voluntary departures especially – Danone states. Factory closures are still not planned. (MTI)
