It would not be possible to lease the local government fish management right
However, the local governments could not give fish management right to lease – Parliament’s Legislative Committee adopted an amendment with such effect.
The amendment to the Act on Fisheries and Fish Conservation discussed by the Parliament originally included: if the local government does not intend to exercise its right to fish management, it can resell this right to a public tender or to resign it to the state.
The legislative committee has abolished this provision, so according to the law, the local government can only transfer this right to the state. (MTI)
