Lidl Hungary has won the Most Attractive Workplace of the Year award in the retail category for the fourth time in a row.  The prestigious recognition was awarded to the company based on the results of the PwC Hungary 2025 labor market preference survey. The company provides an attractive and stable workplace through competitive wages, continuous development opportunities and employee appreciation. It also monitors employee needs and adapts flexibly to them where possible.

PwC Hungary annually assesses the labor market preferences of high school and vocational school graduates, university students and employees, including what factors and benefits are most important to them, what expectations they have of employers, and which domestic employer brands are most attractive to them. Based on the results of the research, Lidl Hungary has won the Most Attractive Workplace of the Year award in the retail category for the fourth time in a row.

Lidl Hungary is working to be the number one choice not only among customers, but also among employees. In addition to competitive wages and benefits, the company also places special emphasis on continuous development and advancement opportunities, and through these, among other things, it provides an attractive and stable workplace for its more than 9,500 employees.

“Lidl is one of the largest employers in the country, so it is a matter of great pride for us that young people and employees have chosen us as the most attractive workplace in the commercial category for the fourth time in a row. It is now clear that completely different aspects are important for, for example, an employee of generation X, a Y or a Z, so we consider it particularly important to flexibly adapt to these different needs. Accordingly, we develop benefit, development and well-being programs that create real value for all age groups. We are constantly working to ensure that Lidl is not just a workplace, but a reliable and supportive environment for all employees”

– said Dorottya Takács, HR manager of Lidl Hungary Director.

As a responsible employer, Lidl strives to support its employees in many areas, in addition to competitive wages, whether it is health, development or family. As part of the outstanding benefits package, for example, a certain amount is credited to the Lidl card every month, which can be purchased in stores, but it also supports going to work, to a higher extent than legally required.

It also considers it important to maintain both mental and physical health and strives to contribute to the well-being of its employees in this regard. It also offers a high-value health insurance program for all employees, which provides free, comprehensive health care in private clinics nationwide. In order to take advantage of this, every employee is also given an extra day off to take part in screening tests.

In addition, Lidl Hungary supports the professional and personal development of its colleagues and their well-being in everyday life with, among other things, training, school start support, children’s summer camps and family events, sports opportunities and sports days.  As part of the You Can Count on Us! program, employees and their immediate family members can also use the help of external, independent experts in financial, psychological and legal matters.
