FHA Singapore has opened, six exhibitors at the stand of the Agricultural Marketing Center
One of Asia’s most important international exhibitions, Food and Hotel Asia (FHA), opened in Singapore with the participation of about 1,500 exhibitors from more than fifty-two countries. Nearly sixty thousand visitors are expected for the event taking place between April 23-26, 2024. At the Agrármarketing Centrum’s community stand, buyers are waiting for their interest with, among other things, subsidized pigeon meat, mangalica products, biscuits and Hungarian wines. The six Hungarian exhibitors present themselves on a sixty square meter stand; two of them participate in the exhibition every year. The Asian city-state is a distribution center of economic and strategic importance, so participation in the exhibition is an excellent opportunity for companies wishing to break into the Asian market.
Eight years ago, in 2016, the Agricultural Marketing Center first organized a public appearance at the Singapore exhibition. Since the Asian city-state has almost no agricultural activity due to its territory, it imports ninety percent of its food. Participation in the FHA represents a huge opportunity for Hungarian food and agricultural companies wishing to export, not only because of Singapore’s receiving market, but also because of its important commercial central role in the region.
In addition to the products of the six exhibitors, the export development branch of the Agrármarketing Centrum, the Hungarian Food Business Program, is also present at the event, within the framework of which potential buyers from the region who are interested in Hungarian products are continuously registered. The program’s digital platform, the Hungarian Food Business catalog, already contains the data of more than two thousand products of 219 Hungarian food manufacturing companies, 364 foreign purchasing companies and 129 other users (typically embassies, consulates, professional organizations).
