The exhibition of the joint art project of PICK and MOME has opened
PICK, which goes back more than 150 years, and the salami experiences that define the taste memories of generations inspired the graphic artists whose works were exhibited in Buda’s cultural main street, Bartók Béla út, in the BBBKultPont Gallery and Community Square. At the special exhibition, former and current students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts (MOME) present, among other things, the works that bring to life their taste stories related to salami. The works created during the joint application of contemporary graphic designers and taste artists were evaluated and awarded by a professional jury.
The joint endeavor of the masters of taste and design is to create lasting creations that can remain in people’s memories for generations and also help to strengthen communities based on the experiences they have lived together. With its winter salami, PICK has almost raised the creation of tradition-preserving, but constantly renewing, special and timeless products to an artistic level, to which the memories of generations are attached. This gave us the idea to invite talented graphic artists, who can revive these memories in an unusual way. In March, such unique creations debuted on canvas bags packed alongside PICK salamis, and then the joint art collaboration between the largest Hungarian meat industry brand and MOME began.
“PICK has always considered it important to keep up with the times, building on its more than 150-year-old traditions, constantly identifying new directions of development in value creation, preserving memories and experiences related to inimitable flavors on an artistic level, and passing them on to new and new generations.”
– says Júlia Szokolai, strategy and marketing director of the Bonafarm meat sector, on behalf of PICK.
