Entries are now open for two prestigious wine competitions in Strasbourg
Entries opened on November 12 for the two major international wine competitions to be held in March 2026: the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg awaits the producers of white wines for the 28th time, and in addition, the European Red & Rosé Wine Contest‘s first announcement.
The Mondial des Vins Blancs is the only global wine competition that focuses exclusively on white wines. The competition has been under the professional patronage of the OIV for 16 years and is a member of the VINOFED international association. What is new is that in 2026, the International Union of Winemakers (UIOE) will be one of the patrons of the competition for the first time.
The field of white wines can be entered in 13 categories this year, in addition to the large varieties, special attention is given to blends and alcohol-reduced – or alcohol-free – items. The main innovation of 2026 is the “Franc de Pied” prize, which can be awarded to wines that come from original, ungrafted stocks.
The jury of the competition is made up of 60 international experts, who, in addition to the large gold, gold and silver medals, also award a number of special prizes, including recognition of the best orange wine, the best indigenous varietal wine or the best alcohol-reduced wine.
Strasbourg Events announces for the first time this year the European Red & Rosé Wine Contest, which gives red and rosé wines from European countries the opportunity to compete, with a separate category for dealcoholized items. The awards follow market trends, and special “Franc de Pied” awards are also awarded here.
Both wine competitions will be held on March 14-15, 2026 at the Strasbourg Convention Centre, and the organizers will support the visibility of the prize winners with international media appearances.
