Patricius Winery’s Profundum Furmint won a gold medal at the Challenge International du Vin competition in Bordeaux
At this year’s Challenge International du Vin in Bordeaux, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, held since 1976, the 2022 Profundum Furmint from Patricius Winery won a gold medal.
The Challenge International du Vin is one of the oldest and most prestigious international wine competitions in the world, hosted by the city of Bourg near Bordeaux. At the competition, which was held for the 49th time this year, nearly 3,000 items were blind-tasted by international jurors according to strict rules. Based on the judges’ scores and opinions at the wine competition, the 2022 Profundum Furmint from Patricius Winery won a gold medal.
The 2022 Profundum Furmint has elegant, fruity and mineral notes thanks to its eight-month maturation in oak barrels. The batch is characterized by a creamy body, round acids and mild, spicy flavors, with a tannic, long aftertaste thanks to the barrel aging.
“Profundum Furmint is one of our top wines, and thanks to the selected harvest and its oak barrel aging, it provides a special experience for consumers. We are very proud that our latest vintage has won such a prestigious award. I consider it important that with this award we can also raise the international reputation and awareness of the Tokaj wine region”
– said Péter Molnár, estate director of Patricius Borház.
