The call for tenders to support butcher shops has opened
Butcher shops operating as micro-enterprises can apply for up to HUF 3.5 million thanks to a new call from the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Pál Márton Nobilis is the state secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy.
The state secretary justified the support by saying that the energy crisis and the difficult economic environment created as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian war and the failed Brussels sanctions in response are challenging retail players. The Ministry of Agriculture is therefore constantly investigating the possibilities that can help the sector. We remain committed to supporting the Hungarian countryside and small settlements, he added.
Regarding the details of the call, Dr. Pál Márton Nobilis explained that the applicant can be an individual entrepreneur or a business company
The support can be used by micro-enterprises whose main scope of activity covers the retail trade of meat and meat products. Another condition is that the butcher shop has a closed business year and undertakes to continue its activities at least until December 31, 2023. An important stipulation is that the applicant must not be in the process of liquidation, liquidation or forced liquidation, or have public debt, at the time of submitting the application. A business is entitled to submit an application, regardless of the number of butcher shops it operates. It is possible to submit applications from February 20, 2023 to March 20, 2023 through the electronic interface available at the link hentstamogatas.hoi.hu – stressed Dr. Pál Márton Nobilis.
The state secretary also mentioned that small butcher shops, as short supply chains, contribute to the realization and maintenance of food security and also provide jobs for the people who live there. At the same time, the existence of these shops also forms the basis of the population retention power of the countryside and especially of small towns, so their support is extremely important from a social and demographic point of view, explained Dr. Pál Márton Nobilis. He emphasized that the economic hardship caused by the war and the Brussels sanctions could be remedied by ending the armed conflict, so peace is the only solution for the future.
