Exciting diversity of events for ProWein 2012
With over 3,700 expected exhibitors from around 50 countries, ProWein 2012, from 4 to 6 March, will once again provide a unique comprehensive reflection of the international wines and spirits market. In addition to the traditional winegrowing nations from Europe and overseas, exotic winegrowing countries such as Brazil and India, are also presenting themselves. Around 300 international spirits suppliers are showing a sophisticated, high-quality mix consisting of tried-and-tested classics, regional-specific delicacies and exceptional new products. In addition, the comprehensive support programme at the leading trade fair ProWein is offering visitors diverse value added.
“Wines of Origin” in the central tasting zone
Traditionally a highlight at ProWein, the central tasting zone, which is being organized in cooperation with “WeinWirtschaft” trade magazine, is offering visitors the opportunity once again in 2012 to have a free taste of around 1,000 wines under a current market-relevant key theme. “Wines of Origin” will be the motto in March 2012. Here people will be able to discover exciting, authentic wines from all over the world, which express the regional growing conditions along with their own recognizable wine profile. At ProWein 2012 the tasting zone is moving into a new location and will be found in the newly added Hall 7.1, in the immediate vicinity of the North Entrance.
Concentrated platform for organic wines in Hall 7.1
For the first time German and international sector associations and companies are presenting themselves under the organic wine theme with a joint participation. In Hall 7.1, occupied for the first time, visitors can expect concentrated competence and expertise from the ecological winegrowing sector. The participants include among others: Ecovin, Demeter, Fepeco (Spain), FNIVAB (France), Bioland Rhineland-Palatinate Regional Association (Landesverband Rheinland Pfalz), Naturian, VIVOLOVIN and Peter Riegel.
“Wine’s best friends”
In the gallery in Hall 6, over 30 participants will be showing “Wine’s best friends”. The special show is being organized in cooperation with “Der Feinschmecker” magazine and is presenting high-quality delicatessen, which go together particularly well with wines and spirits. Participants among others from Germany, Spain and Italy, are presenting exceptional delights for the palate. Checking out “Wine’s best friends” is thus a must, especially for visitors from the specialist retail trade and catering sectors, because here they will find numerous ideas and delicious surprises to include in their own ranges.
The “Do-it-yourself” laboratory – Infusions, Bitters & Co.” in Hall 7a
As a special attraction in Spirits Hall 7a, renowned bartenders are revealing their secret recipes at the FIZZZ Lounge organized by the Meininger Verlag (publishing house). Because syrup for example is being produced increasingly frequently behind the bar by the creative minds themselves – individuality is in! In this context, Arnd Heißen (Ritz Curtain Club, Berlin) is for example developing drinks to go with perfumes. How? This is what he will be showing the visitors in the Do-it-yourself laboratory at the FIZZZ Lounge at ProWein 2012.
Exhibitors’ support programme
From informative seminars through to top-ranking specialist lectures right up to exciting tasting sessions: the ProWein exhibitors themselves are inviting interested parties to their stands for around 300 events on the most diverse themes. The presenters and speakers are leading sector experts, well-known sommeliers and international trade journalists. The exhibitors’ support programme is diverse and innovative. From February 2012 all dates will be available at www.prowein.com .
ProWein goes city
During the entire period of ProWein Düsseldorf, caterers and specialist dealers are holding exceptional events on wine and spirits under the motto “ProWein goes city”.
