Balaton passenger traffic increased to 3 million

From mid -May to mid -September, nearly 3 million people traveled to Lake Balaton – read in a summary published on Tuesday on MÁV -Start Zrt.

Retro railway weekends and Passenger cars also proved popular

The summer passenger traffic, along with the pre- and season season, was almost 40 percent higher than last year and almost 37 percent 2019. During the season, 232,000 people traveled to Lake Balaton, which is 27 percent last year and 22.5 percent before the epidemic. More than two thirds of them traveled to the southern shore, the full season of Balatonfüred, Balatonfüred, Siófok and Zamárdi were the most popular destination – they pointed out.
