The campaign has started in the sugar factory of the Magyar Cukor (MC) Zrt. in Kaposvár. In the country's only operating sugar factory the processing the first beet deliveries has begun on Thursday, the 120th processing season has begun.

Hájos László, deputy general manager of Magyar Cukor (MC) Zrt. told MTI, that due to the bad weather about 20 percent less sugar beet will be processed, a total of 750-800 thousand tons of sugar beets. It is enough to fulfill the European Union’s 105 thousand tons of sugar quota. The sugar content will be 16.5 percent. (MTI)
