The call for tenders for the new agri-environmental management grant has been published
In 2025, a new five-year AKG subsidy program will be launched, for which farmers can submit their subsidy applications between November 25, 2024 and December 23, 2024. The program, launched again with European Union co-financing within the framework of the new Common Agricultural Policy Strategy Plan, provides the opportunity for a wide range of farmers to continue their farming activities in the spirit of sustainability.

As part of the call, the support period starts on January 1, 2025 and ends on December 31, 2029, i.e. it lasts 5 years. By providing a non-refundable flat-rate subsidy, the support scheme encourages farmers to undertake practices related to crop cultivation, fruit and vineyard cultivation and lawn management for a period of 5 years, which contribute to the preservation and improvement of the environment.
The measure promotes, among other things, the reduction of the use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides, as well as the protection of soils, waters and biodiversity
The new call goes beyond the previous announcement in several respects, it creates a choice of new sustainable management practices for the producers or further develops some previous commitment opportunities, organized into a total of 10 different thematic groups of regulations. For the first time, arable land farmers have the opportunity to choose the thematic group of regulations related to soil renewal management and Natura 2000 arable land in the agri-environmental management program. Within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy Strategy Plan, the funds planned for the call are HUF 200 billion, but the financing of the program extends beyond the current cycle of agricultural subsidies. The support scheme can be considered a continuation of the three-year agri-environmental management program announced on the basis of the Rural Development Program and ending at the end of this year, in which approximately 17,000 farmers with approximately 1.2 million hectares of agricultural land participate.
