The newest, 2025/11 issue of Trade magazine has been published, the extended digital version of which can already be read on our website a few days before the arrival of the printed edition, on 208 pages. By clicking on the cover, it can be opened and even downloaded.

New: In addition to the daily fresh news, the articles published in the magazine are now not only readable, but also audible on the trademagazin.hu website, in both Hungarian and English — just click on the play button at the top of the article, and you can listen to our articles anywhere, anytime, like podcasts.

In the cover interview of our issue, we asked Dr. Vladimir Gnjidić, managing director, about the “Tasty Hungary” initiative launched to save Hungarian gastronomy and about METRO Hungary’s strategy.

In November, the guest author of the Lánchíd opinion column is Zoltán Gazsi, who left Eisberg Hungary after 18 years, and now shares with us his nearly two decades of leadership experience and his ideas about the future of the profession.

In our small-cover interview, we talked with Zsolt Pálinkás, CEO of Tesco, about the results and experiences of the first half of their financial year and about market prospects.

In November, in the Featured Topic section, we recall what was said during the first three days of the Business Days 2025 conference. In the opening part, we summarized the lectures, followed by presentations of the afternoon round tables (discussion analyzing catering industry trends and HoReCa supplier round table). On the second day, conference guests could learn about the viewpoints of suppliers, buyers, and domestic chains, and on this day the Commercial Quality Award for Hungarian Products recognitions were also presented. From the third day of the Business Days conference, we recalled analytical presentations, while the afternoon round tables covered e-commerce/digital commerce, logistics, the packaging industry, and the fuel market. In the section, we can get to know the content of comprehensive lectures in further detailed articles.

In the opening article of our Spotlight section, Miklós Nagy, professional secretary of the National Association of Packaging and Material Handling (CSAOSZ), presents the challenges of the packaging industry brought by the new EU regulatory system and the mandatory deposit-return system for beverage packaging. But in the spirit of sustainability, we also deal with changes in cardboard packaging and with the plastic market. In addition, we present the winners of the Hungaropack Hungarian Packaging Competition 2025. We also report on the Ökosys Zrt. Food & Label Professional Day and on McKinsey’s sustainability research published in October 2025.

Topics of our Shelf Mirror section: sausage market, spreads segment, praline, tea, syrup market, whiskies. But in addition to shower gels and intimate hygiene products, makeup, decorative cosmetics, and perfumes, fragrances also have a place. In the Shelf Mirror supplement, we deal in more detail with wines, wineries, and wine trade.

The news of our Sustainability section are followed by the novelties of our Vegan section. You can again read the latest news from the plant-based product market, and we publish a more detailed article about plant-based egg substitutes.

Our HoReCa section as usual starts with the analysis of the Association of Hungarian Restaurateurs, which presents the situation of businesses operating in the sector, the effects of tourism, and the role of VAT rates. Then comes an interview with Rudolf Semsei, founder-owner of Semsei Gastronomy. This is followed by a problem-revealing survey conducted among members of the Hungarian Confectioners’ Association, and you can also get to know this year’s Cake of the Country. The HoReCa news are followed by an exciting overview of the fish market.

In our Market Analysis section, AKII analyzes the onion market and GKI presents the trends of industrial production. Then we publish a detailed summary of the development of European consumer habits based on the YouGov Household Panel data and Behavior Change research, as well as Ipsos’s global trend study, which tracks opinion changes of the population of 40 countries.

In our Sales and Business Development section, besides the news, you can read a new part of the article series by Dr. Tamás Kozák, general secretary of OKSZ, about the changes in digital commerce. Then we report on this year’s stops of the COOP-Rally. In addition, we present in detail the world’s largest international food industry trade fair, the Anuga in Cologne. In the supplement of the section, you can get to know the evaluation opinions of this year’s Superbrands jury and, of course, the award winners as well.

AI news cannot be missing from our issue either, followed by a summary of the Future Talks with Szilvia Krizsó podcast episode related to the topic, in which Arthur Keleti, cyber-secret futurist, spoke about the novelties of the digital space.

Our November issue is, as always, closed by the news of our In-store and Out-door section, as well as the novelties of our Innovations and Campaigns section.
