New: in addition to the daily news, the articles published in the magazine can now not only be read but also listened to on trademagazin.hu, in both Hungarian and English, just click Play within the article. This way, you can listen to the articles anywhere, anytime, much like podcasts.

In the Lánchíd Klub opinion column, László Flórián, Managing Director of Praktiker Hungary, writes about what can be done in the DIY market during a recession and why it is important for a new generation of brand ambassadors to replace traditional sales roles.

Our September “small cover” interview is with Tünde Turcsán, Managing Director of YouGov Shopper, who talks about the new chapter that begins following the change of ownership of the Household Panel business unit.

After the feature interview, the domestic and international news section concludes with the detailed program of the Business Days 2025 conference, presented in both Hungarian and English.

Our highlighted topic is the Christmas season that starts earlier each year. The opening article presents the latest shopper trends: product discovery has become AI-driven; social commerce and second-hand are booming; and consumers are increasingly value-for-money conscious. We then look at typical Hungarian Christmas customs; the chocolate market; the baking and cooking products segment; and the spice market. Key players of the festive period are also featured, fragrance brands, and we devote a separate article to changes in the culture of corporate gifting.

The current theme of our Spotlight section is sustainability and CSR. After presenting the achievements of major sustainability organizations and associations, we highlight several interesting sustainability trends and report on many companies’ sustainability and CSR efforts. We cover the Free From & Specialty Food + Wine event held in Vienna in June, where the Agricultural Marketing Center participated for the first time. We also touch on consumers’ green considerations and present the winners of the Sustainability Symbol 2025 competition, whose awards will be presented on September 24 at the Business Days conference.

Our August–September supplement traditionally focuses on logistics, transportation and warehousing. According to representatives of the logistics sector, faster, smarter and greener transport is now an expectation. Companies engaged in warehousing also share their views, and we review developments in the freight-fleet market. We discuss data-driven logistics trends and the extremely rapid technological advances seen in warehousing.

Topics in our Shelf Mirror section: the markets for coffee, rice, functional foods and beverages, and vitamins. We also cover the evolution of the vodka category, the toothpaste market and household hygiene products.

In our Vegan section you will again find the latest news from the plant-based food market, as well as a study by Innova Market Insights examining the segment.

Our HoReCa section, as usual, addresses current issues of the associations; then we take a detailed look at the reasons behind the enduring popularity of Italian cuisine and Italian gastronomy, and we present the bakery market, from changing consumer needs to the latest popularity rankings.

In our Market Analysis section, alongside analyses and forecasts by AKII and GKI, we present Impetus Research’s representative éTREND 2025 study on the dietary habits of the Hungarian population. You can also discover the most popular FMCG brands based on YouGov’s Brand Footprint 2025 study, the Hungarian findings of which will be presented, together with an awards ceremony, at the Business Days conference on September 25.

In our Sales and Business Development section, we address the challenges of the labor market in the retail sector in the first part of OKSZ’s (National Trade Association) exclusive series; the most important issues in cybersecurity in the second part of our series with Mastercard; and we share a keynote by futurist Dea Frankó Csuba from this year’s Inno D’Or conference. From our Future Talks business podcast series we revisit the interview with Réka Rubint, and we report on the Rossmann Beauty Expo.

In the section’s supplement you can read detailed coverage of our Business Meetup & Dinner event, including the key points from the talks by economist Dr. Zoltán Pogátsa and China researcher Dr. Tamás Matura.

Of course, AI news is not missing from our new issue either.

In our In-store and Out-of-home section, you can meet the winners of the POPAI Student Design Awards and read the summary of the latest Trade Marketing Club meeting on networking. In the current installment of our Retail Tools series, we look at the latest payment technologies, cash registers, terminals and scales.

As always, our August–September issue closes with brief presentations of new products and innovations.
