Milk’s price going up
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) revealed that the price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 96.03/kg in September 2017. Due to the 2-percent rise in the base price, raw milk’s price was up 4 percent on average from the August level and it got 33 percent higher than it had been in September 2016. Raw milk’s export price was HUF 114.37/kg, 7 percent higher than in the previous month and 26 percent above the level of September 2016.
The export price was 19 percent higher than the average price for which milk was purchased from farmers. In 2017 0.7 percent more milk is expected to be purchased from farmers in the EU and 2018 may bring a 1.4-percent growth in this respect. In Hungary the producer price of pork was HUF 514/kg without the transportation cost in September 2017 (1 percent less than a year ago). Broiler chicken’s live weight price was HUF 246.30/kg – 3.9 percent less than a year earlier. //
