EXTENDED! Local communities can apply again: they can win a total of HUF 42 million in support from Tesco
For the 12th time, Tesco is launching its “You choose, we help” tender program to support local community initiatives, the deadline for which has been extended until November 11. In the rounds of the program so far, the department store chain has contributed to the implementation of more than 1,500 environmental beautification, educational and skill development projects, as well as encouraging a healthy lifestyle. In the current round, Tesco will support another 180 applications with a total of HUF 42 million. The most creative and innovative application receives a special award this time as well.
Tesco wants to give back as much as possible to the communities where its customers and employees live, which is why it launched its “You choose, we help” tender program in 2016. This is the 12th time this year that the department store chain has launched the tender, for which local organizations, friendly communities, nurseries, kindergartens and schools without a foundation, as well as non-profit small and medium-sized enterprises, condominiums and housing cooperatives, who want to improve the life of the local community with their initiative, are waiting for applications. to contribute. Be it the renovation of a common space, animal protection, artistic, traditional, educational, environmental protection or therapy, or even a charity program to help the needy.
“So far, Tesco has spent more than HUF 400 million to support more than 1,500 applications, so unique ideas such as astronomical demonstrations with telescopes, a youth club that encourages open communication on sensitive issues, a community sewing room, a tent school that engages young university students as mentors, and kindergartens that demonstrate animal husbandry have become a reality. mobile hen house or therapeutic orchard. Organizations need financial help now more than ever, which is why we remain committed to supporting local communities and causes, and we will continue to help them with our program in the future,” said Nóra Hevesi, Head of Communications at Tesco Hungary.
In the current round – with an extended deadline – you can apply until November 11 via the program’s website
Once again, the applications received will be judged by the independent experts of the Effekteam Association, and they will select which initiatives can go on to the store voting stage. After that, between January 16 and February 12, 2023, Tesco customers can decide with their votes which initiative will receive HUF 400,000, HUF 200,000, and HUF 100,000 support. Based on professional aspects (elaboration, innovativeness, creativity and sustainability), the independent experts recommend one or more applicants for an additional special award, the winner of which will be announced by Tesco at the same time as the start of the voting period. When choosing the application topic and compiling the material, it is therefore worth considering this additional support option.
“As the special prize winner of the 10th round, we were able to show about 300 interested people the tricks of making leavened dough and bread with the joint participation of members of several generations, and at the same time we also helped those in need,” said the representative of the Kenderzsupp Közhasznú Tradition Preservation Association regarding their community bakery called KOVÁSZ.
