The average yield of wheat in Tolna County exceeds six tons
In Tolna, the harvest of the entire production area of the plant, 47 thousand hectares was completed. The average yield per hectare was 6.14 tons – Vendégh Edit.
Wheat is also of mixed quality, it is milled and improved quality wheat grown on soils with better water management, for example in Sárköz, and the crop is fodder quality in weaker areas. The reason for the poorer yield is the lack of precipitation; most recently in October 2020 there was a significant amount of precipitation on the lands of Tolna, the spring months were also drought, 24 millimeters of rain fell in March and 30 millimeters in April. 100-130 millimeters of rain is missing from the ground, he added.
