Waitrose doubles online weekly orders
Now processing 150,000 online orders per week, this represents more than double the number Waitrose.com was processing at the start of the year.
As it ends its 20-year relationship with Ocado Retail in September, Waitrose has been ramping up its online operations, stating its ambition to double the size of its online business. Increased demand for online shopping during the pandemic will help drive momentum towards a time which digital director Ben Stimson had already identified as the single biggest growth opportunity for the Waitrose business.
In February, Waitrose announced plans for 24 more stores in its estate to fulfill orders. The retailer is investing in 150 more vans to deliver orders, further increasing the number of slots available
