Magazin: Egg consumption: unstoppable sinking?
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) reveal that the price of slaughter pig moderately increased recently and slaughter cattle prices augmented significantly in the first half of 2011, in comparison with the same period a year earlier. According to data from KSH (Central Statistical Office), our live cattle export was up 60 percent in the fist four months of the year. Domestic egg sales dropped by 16 percent and sales price at the point of packaging was 14 percent lower (at HUF 15.76/piece) in the first half of 2011 than in the same period of 2010. Tray-packaged category ‘L’ egg volume sales only fell by 1.5 percent, but in boxes one third less was sold in terms of volume. Category ‘M’: tray-packaged sales declined by 23 percent and boxed ’M’ egg sales dropped by 13 percent.
