Deposit system is hard in the beginning
The employee of hvg.hu tested the deposit of the first HUF 50 bottle. It turns out that even the most routine cashiers need time to get used to and manage the new process effectively.
During the first testing of the new system, one customer tried to return a 1.5-liter soft drink of Aldi’s own brand, charged with a deposit fee. The operation of the reverse automatic machine went smoothly, but the cashiers still needed time to handle the process quickly.
Many of the cashiers were experiencing this type of deposit request for the first time, causing some confusion in some stores. In one case, the teller immediately called for help on his intercom, and when help arrived, the redemption process continued, although the process took some time.
The customers also had to adapt to the new process, since they have to give the coupon to the cashier before the goods are purchased. This small change still requires some learning time on the part of both customers and cashiers.
