Still in recession
Retail sales were down by 2.5 per cent in February 2008, compared to February 2007. According to the latest KSH report, retail sales were down by 0.2 per cent in February, compared to January. Sales in food retail were 1.6 per cent lower in the first two months of 2008, than a year before. Sales of general stores were down by 0.8 per cent in February. Sales in food retail rose by 0.2 per cent in February, compared to January.
