Still less beer sold than before the pandemic
Although Hungarian beer production has been increasing in 2021, the level of consumption was 4 percent lower than in the same period of 2019 – Dr Sándor Kántor, director of the Association of Hungarian Brewers told Agroinform.hu. Per capita beer consumption was 72.7 litres in 2019 and the proportion of import was bigger than 25 percent. In 2020 beer sales dropped by 13 percent from the 2019 level.
