It is still EU law that is in effect in the United Kingdom
While the United Kingdom is a member of the European Union, the EU’s legal system needs to be respected – concluded a discussion in the European Commission in early March. In the debate many people talked about the uncertain situation – after the Brexit vote – of the 3.1 million EU citizens who live in the UK. It was made clear that these people should be guaranteed their right to free movement until the process of the UK’s exit from the EU is completed.
