Mastercard: Nearly eight out of ten people choose contactless payment
According to a recent global consumer survey conducted by Mastercard in 19 countries, 79 percent of shoppers choose contactless payment, mentioning security and cleanliness as the most important motivation, the payment technology company announced. Precautions were introduced in several countries during February and March, as part of which the vast majority of consumers turned to contactless payment solutions.
The seemingly simple daily routine purchases have also changed drastically in recent times. Shoppers around the world have had to adapt to the new standards, even if it is just about buying everyday items like eggs, toilet paper, or medicines. The change is particularly noticeable in cash payments: people have also voiced concerns about cleanliness and security.
