The key employers of Kőbánya present themselves for the second time
After last year’s successful debut, the Kőbánya Career Festival will be held for the second time on November 13 this year, where those interested can learn about Kőbánya’s rich and varied employers, the local cultural life and the corporate and business culture of the district’s dominant companies. In the KÖKI Shopping Center, the employer brands of well-known companies based in the district, such as Aalberts, Bosch, Ceva-Phylaxia, Continental, Dreher, Egis, Hungaropharma or Richter, will be presented, and Kőbányai will appear as an employer Municipality. These workplaces offer more than a hundred professions, more than a thousand positions and countless development opportunities. The Kőbányai SzakmaFest was created by the Kőbánya intersectoral cooperation, X-GAIN, which is also considered unique nationally.
With a population of 70,000, Kőbánya is the geometric center of Budapest, and it is no coincidence that it is the Hungarian home of many large global companies, and thus the workplace of thousands of district and non-local residents. In addition to its indisputable unique industrial heritage, the defining elements of Budapest’s architectural culture can be found here: from turn-of-the-century monuments to the most modern office buildings, it is also one of the capital’s largest green areas and the site of several popular sports events. However, there are still people who do not know the rich cultural life of Kőbánya and the corporate culture of the district’s most important employers. The activity of the Kőbánya Economic Development and Innovation Council, i.e. X-GAIN, gives impetus to continuous development. The municipality, the corporate sector and local community actors came together in preparation for the 150th anniversary of the official founding of Kőbánya. More than sixty active participants are working on local solutions in the thematic platform launched in the spring of 2022 with the cooperation of the 10 major companies of the Xth District and the city administration; starting with infrastructure and mobility, through programs supporting a healthy lifestyle and volunteering, to promoting local innovation and startup culture, as well as career choice. A priority area is cooperation, communication and development coordination between district companies.
The Kőbánya Industry Festival – which is an initiative of X-GAIN in 2023 – will be organized this year at a new location, in the KÖKI Shopping Center, after last year’s tradition-making event. The members of X-GAIN considered it of utmost importance that, in contrast to traditional exhibitions and job fairs, those interested should meet job opportunities not in an event space, but in a busy hub where they regularly visit anyway.
