Mars: The Csongrád-Bokros plant is getting greener

Every year, more than 120 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and about 80 Megawatt hour of electricity is saved, due to the recently completed development, in the Csongrád-Bokros plant of Mars Hungary Pet Food Manufacturing Ltd.

The heating unit and the hot water in the plant – employing approximately 800 workers – is produced by the usage of geothermal energy. The thermal water, that gushes from several hundred meters – covers the 87 percent of the heat demand. Annually 82,600 cubic meters natural gas burning can be avoided. That is equal to the annual heating of 30 houses – reports MTI.
