Mars: 3.5 Million Cocoa Plants, more than 270 thousand supported small growers, and 1 billion USD Investment for sustainable cocoa growing
Mars Wrigley, a 100-year-old manufacturer of popular chocolate bars and one of the world’s largest cocoa users, has announced the steps that will be taken for a sustainable cocoa supply chain through the Cocoa for Generations plan.
The Sustainability Plan, which is backed by a 1 billion USD investment focuses on small-holder cocoa producers, recently reached a milestone when the company released its first annual report at the World Cocoa Foundation’s meeting in Berlin in 2019.
