From March, online orders can arrive within an hour: SPAR’s online shop moves to Wolt
SPAR’s online shopping service will not be discontinued, but will move to Wolt from March 21, 2025. This will make delivery faster than before: online customers can receive their ordered products within an hour, but they can also continue to use the drive-in option, i.e. the option to collect pre-assembled packages in stores.
“A new chapter begins in SPAR’s online sales activities from March. Our online store will move to the Wolt platform – thanks to the cooperation between the two companies that began last summer – thereby reducing delivery times and expanding the service area. With the new ordering option, Wolt will provide delivery to approximately 3.9 million residents in 40 settlements from 73 SPAR and INTERSPAR stores. Through Wolt, the service will also be available in cities such as Eger, Szeged and Mosonmagyaróvár, where we did not deliver before, and in the future we will include new regions in the online ordering and delivery option. In addition, our company will also significantly expand the product range in the near future”
– said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
As Márk Maczelka said: from March 21, orders can only be placed from SPAR and INTERSPAR stores via the Wolt interface. The ordering process is simple: after selecting the SPAR/INTERSPAR store on the Wolt application or website, the customer can select the products they want to order from the selection of the given store, then indicate whether they want home delivery or on-site collection. The personal collection option is available in 40 settlements across the country.
The online ordering option currently covers around 10,000 products, including all food categories – vegetables and fruits, bakery products, dairy products, delicatessen, meat, chemical products, beverages, and pet food – which cover a day’s or even a larger shopping trip. The cooling chain is not interrupted during delivery, and Wolt ensures delivery using appropriate equipment, and after the order is placed, the courier immediately brings the products to the customer. Thanks to the constantly updated inventory data, any product shortages of the ordered goods can be minimized. If a product is out of stock, the customer can specify their product substitution preferences, but can still decide not to request a substitution.
Wolt delivers the ordered goods from Monday to Sunday, except for holidays, taking into account the opening hours of the stores. Delivery is available from 399 HUF, and the fee depends on the distance between the store and the delivery address. By using the Wolt+ service, delivery is available from all SPAR stores for HUF 0 for orders over HUF 6,000.
