Retail sales in the Czech Republic increased by five percent in March
Excluding calendar effects, retail sales in the Czech Republic increased by five percent on an annual basis in March, while they decreased by 1.6 percent month-on-month, the Czech Statistical Office (CSÚ) announced in Prague.
The statistical office pointed out that the development of retail trade in the Czech Republic was significantly influenced by the precautionary measures against the coronavirus pandemic, as a result of which many shops were closed or restricted during opening hours, and certain goods could only be purchased in online stores.
