Food surplus remained

The export of agricultural and food products reached 2 571 million euros, while the import reached 1 684 million euros in the first four months of 2016. The agricultural foreign trade surplus was 887 million euros.

The value of exports was slightly (-0.9 percent) below the level of a year before, while imports rose by 3.6 percent, so the balance, decreased by 8.4 percent to 82 million euros. The foreign trade turnover of live pigs in the first four months of 2016 was 23 percent lower, compared to the same period a year before. (by our colleague)
