Opinions are now open on the call for support for ecological farming
Agricultural subsidies co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the new Common Agricultural Policy Strategy Plan (KAP ST) provide greater benefits than ever before to those producers who choose organic farming. The Ministry of Greyhounds is waiting for the opinions of those involved in the social consultation of the call for support of organic farming, which has just begun, as every comment counts in order to achieve the stated goals.
The call entitled “Support for organic farming” encourages the conversion and conversion of currently conventionally cultivated areas to organic farming, as well as the maintenance of the farming method in areas already under organic cultivation, in the form of a non-refundable flat-rate subsidy. The grant program lasts for five years, starting on January 1, 2025 and ending on December 31, 2029. Beneficiaries undertake to farm in accordance with the regulations of ecological farming in their subsidized areas – be it arable land, lawns or plantations – during this time.
3,589 producers with 175,423 hectares are participating in the three-year support program for organic farming, which runs until the end of this year. In 2023, the size of the areas brought into organic farming in Hungary – together with the transition areas – reached 320 thousand hectares, in which the support measure plays a significant role.
The call can be commented on until September 27 on kap.gov.hu, where all additional documents related to the call can be viewed. The comments received during socialization are answered and published by the National Management Authority, creating an opportunity for the partner organizations to get to know each other’s opinions.
