“Our mission is to support employees in a health crisis, to alleviate the financial burden of serious family problems, long-term illness, death or natural disasters that affect our employees or their families, and to help our colleagues rehabilitate”,
says Nóra Hevesi, Tesco’s head of communications and campaigns.
The operating model is simple: income is generated by regular or occasional donations from employees, or donations from bake sales or other charitable collections. Each month Tesco doubles the amount raised. Currently nearly 2,300 workers are regular donors and the foundation has been able to help more than 1,300 colleagues over the last 5 years. Tesco celebrated the birthday of the Angel programme with several activities. //
