Debrecen will host the Mangalica festival
The National Association of Mangalica Breeders will hold its tenth festival in Debrecen – said Tóth Péter, president of the association at Tuesday’s press conference in Debrecen.
He reminded that one-third of the country’s mangalica population comes from the Eastern region. He added that 20 thousand of the annual 50 – 60 thousand animals are processed in slaughterhouses, the other part is processed homemade. 50 percent of the animals processed at slaughterhouses are exported.
Organizers expect 15 thousand visitors to the Mangalica festival that will be held between 13 to 15 April.
Beside the mangalica products, cheese made with traditional methods, herbs, oils will be available at the festival – he added. (MTI)
