Customers of INTERSPAR hypermarkets helped pets living in shelters all over the country
It was organized for the fourth time last weekend by Mancs a bajban! SPAR Hungary and the National Animal Protection Foundation are organizing a pet food collection campaign to support dogs and cats living in shelters. During the two-day collection, the customers of the INTERSPAR hypermarkets offered a total of nearly 12,000 canned goods, 9,500 kilograms of dry food, as well as a large amount of pet equipment and cleaning products. In addition, SPAR supports the cause of animal protection with an additional HUF 1 million.
For more than 10 years, SPAR Hungary, together with the National Animal Welfare Foundation, has been organizing pet food collection campaigns for more than 10 years, one of the largest events of which is Mancs a baj! initiative. As part of this, volunteers from animal protection organizations collected the offers from customers in all 36 INTERSPAR hypermarkets in the country at the same time last weekend.
“Today in Hungary, many small animals live in poor conditions. Many people cannot even imagine how much of a task it is for animal welfare organizations to take care of them. SPAR has been helping animal shelters in Hungary for more than a decade by offering products that have been withdrawn from commercial circulation but can be used for feeding animals. In addition, our company closely cooperates with the National Animal Welfare Foundation. One of the important events of this joint work is Mancs a bajban! promotion, within the framework of which our customers made an extremely large number of offers this year, to whom we would like to thank”
– said Márk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.
