The turnover of the SZÉP card broke a record in May
In the month of May this year, the use of SZÉP cards reached an exceptionally high turnover, with transactions worth more than HUF 2.5 billion, which is the highest monthly amount so far this year. During the first five months of the year, the total value of spending reached HUF 11.4 billion.
According to Zoltán Rammacher, marketing manager of K&H’s residential customer segment, several factors contributed to the rise in May. This year’s early summer weather and the long Pentecost weekend were particularly favorable to domestic tourism, so SZÉP card holders spent more actively on accommodation, entertainment and hospitality venues.
The digital availability of the K&H SZÉP card and the contactless payment option are provided in nearly 22,000 locations across the country, which also promotes the increase in the use of the card. This unique function plays a particularly important role in convenient and fast transactions, contributing to the increase of the user experience.
Monthly credits to SZÉP cards also show a significant increase. In May, the amount of credits exceeded HUF 2.5 billion, which represents an 11 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, and by the end of the year, the total credits reached HUF 12.6 billion. The total available balance of the K&H SZÉP card amounts to more than HUF 8.6 billion, which is a significant increase of 17 percent compared to the May data of last year.
The increase in the use of the SZÉP card and the expansion of digital availability indicate that the card plays an increasingly important role in the field of domestic tourism and hospitality, both for consumers and service providers.
