No trade show in May, but a green light for December
Normally the Private Label Manufacturers Association organises the ‘World of Private Label’ trade show in May. Because of the pandemic this year’s event will take place on 14-15 December, in the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam. Exhibitors can already register, the number of daily visitors will be maximised and there will be regular disinfection at the trade fair. Those who can’t be there will be able to join the online Trade Show on 24-28 January 2022.
PLMA Private Label Yearbook
Since 1998 the PLMA yearbook has been published every year, analysing the trends of more than 7,000 product categories with the assistance of Nielsen. The book’s latest edition reveals that the market share of private label (PL) products was above 30 percent in Europe at the end of 2020. PL’s share was the highest, 49.7 percent in Spain and the lowest, 22.6 percent in Italy. As for Central and Eastern Europe, PL’s share was above 40 percent in Austria and more than 30 percent in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Their market share increased the most in Hungary, by 1.4 percent to 36.2 percent – this was the biggest growth and the biggest share for private labels ever measured in our country. //
